Taste of Staffordshire Master Chef and Young Chef of Tomorrow awards - The cook off

10th May 2010, Stafford College, Earl Street, Stafford

The competition invites budding chefs aged 16 to 20 and experienced chefs aged 21 and upwards to submit menus for a three-course meal using seasonal local ingredients, costing no more than £20 and prepared in less than two hours.

The winner of the coveted Master Chef award will win £1,000 while the Young Chef of Tomorrow will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to expand their skills at a top Michelin rated restaurant.

Major Series 2010

Chef of the Future competition - Live cook off

27th May 2010, The Vegetarian Society headquarters, Cheshire

The Cordon Vert cookery school is launching its quest to find new vegetarian culinary stars for 2010 through its Chef of the Future competition.

The first stage of the competition is to create a three course meal which is suitable for vegetarians. The finalists will then be expected to produce their full menu at this live cook off.

The winner of the award will receive a fully funded Cordon Vert Diploma scholarship (worth in excess of £1,500), a personalised chef's jacket, a year's membership to the Vegetarian Society and a hamper of products approved by the Vegetarian Society.
