According to the Guinness Book of Records, Grace Neill’s (originally The King’s Arms) is the oldest pub in Ireland, having been around since 1611.

The name was changed in memory of a former landlady, who ran the pub in the some 100 years ago and is said to still haunt the place.

Today it is a regular tourist attraction and among celebrities said to have visited over the years are Peter the Great, Franz Liszt, John Keats and, more recently, Tina Turner.

Local dishes feature on the extensive menus, including Portavogie Prawn Cocktail, Strangford Lough Mussels, and, of course, Beef and Guinness Pie.
