Davis was presented his award by Mark Stokes, managing director of large corporates at the 11th annual Sunday Times PricewaterhouseCoopers Profit Track 100 awards dinner, held on 15 June at Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel in London.
The Profit Track 100 awards dinner celebrates the best of British entrepreneurship. It brings together the founders and directors of Britain's 100 privately-owned companies with the fastest-growing profits over the latest three years of available audited accounts, as published in the latest Sunday Times Profit Track 100 league table.
von Essen hotels prides itself on its continuous customer service improvement programme, employing initiatives such as mystery shoppers and sharing lessons learnt from customer feedback across its 29 properties. Profits rose 44% a year from an annualised £5.1m in 2005 to £9.9m in 2008.
Chairman and founder of von Essen hotels, Andrew Davis, commented: "We are delighted to receive this prestigious award which is evidence of the huge importance von Essen places on ensuring customer satisfaction and indeed, on exceeding expectations.
