McCluskey's role will encompass introducing new ideas into the seasonal menus and emphasising the provenance of local suppliers as well as ensuring the smooth running and development of the dining experience at Washbourne.
He joins with more than nine years experience in the hotel and hospitality industry. His most recent position was at The George Hotel, Shipston-on-Stour, where he held the position of executive chef.
Previous positions also include being senior sous chef for The Welcombe Hotel in Warwickshire and head chef at 947AD at the Royalist in Gloucestershire.
General manager of Washbourne Court, Chris Ling, commented on the move: ''I am delighted that Eugene has joined the team at Washbourne. His passion for locally sourced produce and enthusiasm will firmly establish Washbourne as one of the premier fine dining venue in the Cotswolds."
