Rashelle, 22, who works at Les's Fish Bar, Wrexham, beat off competition from over a hundred other young hopefuls to claim her place in the top five, after a panel of four judges awarded her high points based on food preparation, handling, frying, and customer service.
Despite only working for the restaurant for a year, Rashelle used to help out on weekends and in school holidays. After completing her studies and testing the water in other areas, Rashelle was drawn back to the restaurant due to her love of the people – both staff and customers.
She said: "I was keen to enter the Young Fish Fryer of the Year competition as soon as I found out about it, partly because I've got a very competitive nature and love a challenge but also because it's great recognition for a fantastic restaurant.
"I'm absolutely delighted that I've made it this far and fingers crossed I can go on to win and do both Les and Wrexham proud!"
The winner of the Young Fish Fryer of the Year competition will be announced at the 'The Fish & Chip Shop of the Year' awards ceremony in London, in January.
Les's Fish Bar can be found in Wrexham, Nantwich, Crewe and Widnes.
