Smith beat off competition from over 100 other young hopefuls to claim her place in the top five, after a panel of four judges awarded her high points based on food preparation, handling, frying, and customer service.
She commented on her win: "I was keen to enter the Young Fish Fryer of the Year competition as soon as I found out about it, partly because I've got a very competitive nature and love a challenge but also because it's great recognition for a fantastic restaurant.
"I'm absolutely delighted that I've made it this far and fingers crossed I can go on to win and do both Les and Wrexham proud!"
The winner of the Young Fish Fryer of the Year competition will be announced at the 'The Fish & Chip Shop of the Year' awards ceremony in London, in January.
