The system, which transfers data between the software and the chip and pin terminal, will also speed up transactions, according to the sushi chain.
YO! Sushi has also implemented Commidea's contactless payment solution, whereby the contactless enabled credit card is simply passed over a reader to make a purchase of £10 or under, without the need to enter a PIN code.
The company said that since implementing the new solution, the time taken for a card to be authorised has dropped from one minute to under two seconds.
YO! Sushi's customers can use the payment terminal to add a gratuity.
Bill Waters, IT Manager, YO! Sushi explained more about the technology: "Commidea's technology has made our employees' lives easier as they no longer need to key in customer bill totals to the Chip & PIN terminal.
"It has removed the added risk of manual error and the gratuity application has resulted in an increase in tips. All of these things have led to our employees to describe the system as the best credit card solution they have used."
