Slinger said it had been a tough year for the tourism business, but believes a hotelier cluster could boost trade across the county in 2010.
"It has been a more difficult year for business, but we are all in it together and now seems like a good time to share best practices so that we can help each other through the recession," he said.
"I have 16 years experience in the hotel business, but there are always different ways of doing things and I am sure we can learn a lot from each other.
"The cluster would be made up of managers who would generate ideas that could be implemented in all of their hotels."
Slinger, who has run the hotel for five years, believes cooperation is the key for smaller businesses to get out of - and move on from - the recession.
"I feel this recession has been a lesson to us all and we should all learn from it," he said. "By working together we can make a difference to the tourism trade in the county and everyone will benefit in the long run."
