In the 12 months ending 21st March 2009, the statistics from Nielsen highlighted how 96 million fewer cases of wine were bought in the last year.

The biggest brands effected were Hardy's which saw a 17% drop in sales and a 21% drop in volume. Stowells also saw volume sales drop 26%.
