The highly respected whisky expert included 4,000 whiskies in his 2010 Whisky Bible, but only those scoring over 95 were awarded the prestigious Liquid Gold award. To have twenty from a single whisky merchant is a huge achievement in this highly competitive industry.
Duncan Taylor's managing director, Euan Shand, is proud of his company's awards.
He said: "This bible is aptly named as it contains only the world's best whiskies. The publication is widely read by the world's whisky appreciators and having Duncan Taylor's Rare Auld, Black Bull, Auld Reekie and Rarest of the Rare whiskies included is indeed a bonus."
These awards continue the winning streak for the privately owned company, which scooped accolades from Malt Maniacs, Jim Murray's World Whisky Awards and Whisky Magazine Independent Bottlers' Challenge during 2009.
Duncan Taylor currently exports to over forty countries including Asia and America and has plans to commence building its own distillery in Huntly late this year.
Euan Shand added: "We are excited about the opportunities whisky presents, not just for now, but for generations to come. Despite the global downturn, we have seen sales grow. Perhaps investors are appreciating that liquid gold is a safer bet than money in the bank."
