Wetherspoon continues to boom with new opening plans

Pub operator JD Wetherspoon is opening 12 new pubs in July.

It is investing more than £12.5 million on the new outlets and creating 550 full and part-time jobs.

The pubs are located in Blackpool, Aylesbury, Otley, Newbury, Nottingham, Petersfield, Sherwood, Cambridge, Sheffield, Birmingham, Whittlesey and Coventry.

JD Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin said: "We are very pleased to be opening 12 new pubs and creating so many jobs throughout July.

"Our pubs continue to prove popular and it is especially rewarding to be opening outlets in a number of areas where we are not yet represented."
