Welsh eat most takeaways in UK

Nearly half of Welsh people eat at least one takeaway a week, compared with Northern Ireland, where two thirds of people eat takeaway just once a month.

A UK-wide survey of over 7,000 people by sales data by the UK's online takeaway provider, found that the Welsh eat more takeaway food than any of the other home nations, averaging 3.3 takeaways a week per household.

Figures suggest 17% of Welsh people eat takeaways three times a week, with a further 2% claiming to eat takeaway food on a daily basis.

www.just-eat.co.uk found that English towns and cities ate an average of 2.6 takeaways per week per average family, with Scotland coming in at third out of four with 2.4 takeaways per week.

The Irish are less likely to order out than the other nations, with just 1.9 takeaways per week on average.
