Von Essen hotels appoints new general manager

von Essen hotels has appointed Andrew Mackay as general manager for the Samling Hotel in Cumbria.

Mackay's role will encompass ensuring the delivery of standards expected from one of the top 200 hotel's in the country and continuing to surpass guest expectations, whilst pushing the business to new heights.

The new general manager joins von Essen with more than 15 years experience in the hotel and hospitality industry. His recent positions include Linthwaite House where he held the position of general manager. Previous positions also include being general manager of The Greenway for von Essen hotels and hotel manager for Macdonald Hotels at the Old England in Cumbria.

Nick Romano chief executive officer of von Essen hotels, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Andrew MacKay to The Samling hotel as general manager.  Andrew has a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry working in top hotels across the country and had an extremely successful tenure managing our Greenway property.
