The 42-room hotel is located close to the town centre of Maidstone, the county town of Kent, and as well as being one of the region's premier hotels is also one of the most popular conferencing and banqueting venues in the county.
Formerly the Sacred Heart convent, the 3-star hotel (given the Quality Tourism Three-Star Award in 2011) provides accommodation and facilities on three floors and has recently been refurbished to a high standard.
As well as conferencing and banqueting facilities in five suites, the hotel is also licensed for civil wedding ceremonies with a Honeymoon Suite available for newlywed couples.
Andrew Moore of Christie + Co said: "The Russell Hotel is one of the best hotels in the 'Garden of England' which, following substantial improvement by the current owner, represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator or forward-thinking individual. With continued investment it also has excellent potential, particularly in terms of wedding and conference trade."
The freehold of the Russell Hotel, which operates under a Best Western flag, is being marketed by Christie + Co for offers in the region of £2.75 million.
