Vegsoc Approved Awards 2010

16th July 2010, 8:14am

Nominees for the Vegsoc Approved Awards, organised by the Vegetarian Society, have just been released.

Now in its 10th year, these awards are an annual event to celebrate the achievements and high standards attained by manufacturers and caterers of vegetarian cuisine, and they highlight those companies and services that make life easier for vegetarians in the UK.

This year there are 10 categories and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the London Canal Museum on October 28. Eight of the categories are exclusively for Vegsoc approved products or catering. Two categories are aimed at those not currently approved by the Vegetarian Society, namely Best Eating Out/Best of the Rest category and the Best Allcomer.

Vanessa Brown, head of corporate relations at the Vegetarian Society, said: "A big thank you to members of the charity and the general public for the thousands of votes we received. This is an indication of the passion you feel for your favourite vegetarian products and services. After carefully counting the votes, and this did take quite a while, we can announce our short list of nominations."
