The techniques, from blind baking to making salsa verde, are designed to help both beginners and confident cooks learn some essential kitchen secrets.
The idea came about as part of UKTV's support for the work of Fifteen which recruits hard-to-reach young people and offers them the chance to train as chefs. They were filmed at Lewisham College, where the trainee chefs spend part of their training studying for their NVQ2.
Wendy Richmond, communications manager, Fifteen said: "Quite a few of the chefs on the film have only graduated in the last year and it's fantastic to see them being the teachers, sharing their knowledge in this way. We are very proud of them and hope that website visitors will find the techniques helpful when they're next tackling a recipe."
Jane Mote, director of New Media, Lifestyle and Factual, UKTV, added: "We love the work that Fifteen does and wanted to find a way to help the trainees grow their presentation skills by becoming the trainers of the nation through our website. These 'how-to' videos are a great addition to our very popular library of useful cooking techniques already on goodfoodchannel.co.uk."
