The order came from the Bangladeshi cricket team as owner of the Papaya Indian restaurant, Sham Ali told Reuters: "The boys are preparing the takeaway to be flown out to Dubai for a special party. They are in the middle of preparing the lamb, the chicken, all the dishes that need to be cooked. So the boys are busy at work at the moment."
Ali said the Bangladeshi cricket squad first sampled his menu last year: "Throughout the evening we had a good chat about cricket and curry. I happened to mention that in 2001 we did take-away to New York for the group Soul II Soul. They seemed quite intrigued about it.
"On the way out he took a business card and said if he ever in London or around here he would pop in our restaurant for a meal. About a week or ten days ago, I got a call asking if I'd be interested in flying a takeaway to Dubai. And I thought, 'Fantastic! Why not?'"
He added that the whole order, including travel, cost over £4,200.
