The opening of the new 57-room hotel has created 13 new jobs.
The site features the latest contemporary room design from the budget chain. To aide a good night's sleep, each room offers mood lighting complemented by a red, blue and white colour scheme, a luxury Hypnos King size bed, en suite bathroom facilities, a flat screen TV with 18 free digital channels, free tea and coffee making facilities and Wi-Fi.
A study of Travelodges customer spend reveals that each overnight stayer spends £36 in the local town on food, drink and entertainment. This spend will boost Essex tourism revenues by £591,000 per annum.
Chairman of Tendring District Council, Councillor Nick Turner says: "Tendring District Council is very pleased to welcome a modern, go-ahead and fast expanding hotel group to Clacton on Sea. This is a national company that is going to live with us and not off us by creating thirteen new jobs, reusing a redundant building and bringing life back to this part of Clacton on Sea. I welcome Travelodge to Tendring."
David Barcroft, Travelodges District Manager for Essex, adds: "Due to the summer holidays, Clacton Travelodge is off to a flying start. Our reservations data shows this hotel is set to be one of our best performers this summer. With family rooms from £19 Clacton Travelodge offers the best value accommodation in town."
