Travelling in London made easier

The British Frozen Food Federation (BFF) has introduced a ‘London Van Guide’ publication that aims to help businesses that involves driving, delivering and collecting goods, to travel in and around London more efficiently, safer and cheaper.

Whether people are loading and unloading food and drink, or parking to pop in to a restaurant to get a delivery note signed, there are still increasing concerns over the difficulty and expenses of this.

Therefore the guide provides businesses with a series of customised maps that help to inform them of the rules and regulations relating to addresses within the capital. These maps cover information including:

  • The nearest free loading/unloading bays relevant to addresses
  • The dangerous locations to stop where you are likely to get parking tickets
  • Key areas where you can unload
  • Details on height restrictions in car parks
  • Locations of speed cameras

The guide also includes a post code map for London, as well as a controlled parking zone (CPZ) map which highlights the parking rules for the locality of the delivery, and displays the most economical CPZ for meter parking.

In addition to this, there is also a general guide available on the rules for unloading and loading in London, information and contact details on any dispensation or suspension available, a guide to the process of appeals for parking, and basic details on the congestion charge.

Each guide, supplied for British Frozen Food Federation members, costs £9.99 and can be purchased by visiting www.thepieguide.com
