The company says the resilient operational performance "reflects the strength and breadth of our brands, popular price points and value for money offerings".
Overall like for like sales were down 1.6% for the 12 months to May 2010.
The restaurant group said that a new labour management system and best standards throughout its brands helped the business achieve growth.
It added that 20 new restaurants will be opened during the coming year.
Graham Turner, Tragus chief executive officer, commented: "This is a resilient performance from Tragus against a challenging year for the sector. The overall consumer environment remains unsettled however Tragus's strong portfolio of brands and our robust financial position means we are well placed going forward."
