The event is being run jointly by Essex County Council, Maldon District Council and Tastes of Anglia, a regional food and drink group that promotes local produce in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Highlights of the weekend include a programme of cookery demonstrations in the culinary theatre by some of the county's top chefs, talks and tutoring tastings from food and drink makers, and a total of 25 food and drink stalls showcasing their produce.
County councillor John Jowers, cabinet member for Localism, said: "This festival is a great opportunity for the people of Essex to sample local produce and try new things, it is important we support local businesses and this is an excellent way of doing so."
The event will run from 11am to 4pm each day.
