Tooting set to host its first Food Festival in Summer 2011

12th August 2010, 10:20am

The planned food festival which has been designed to “celebrate Tooting's vibrant cultural and culinary diversity, stimulate economic activity and attract people near and far to Tooting's over 300 restaurants, bars and food retailers” will take place from 1 to 16 July 2011.

And in preparation for the event, the organisers are inviting all Tooting restaurants, pubs, bars and food retailers to enter the awards by visiting their newly launched registration website at www.tootingfoodfestival.com or by emailing the team at info@tootingfestival.com.

In addition to giving advice to visitors on how they can get involved in the event, the launch of the new website at the same address in January 2011 will also feature the names of participating venues, houses reviews and food and drink related news and also contain visitor forums.

Details of the festival's planned food and drink awards, which are designed to "recognise the best in class venues in different categories" will also be available on the site.

Visitors to the event will be invited to enter competitions to win special offers and prizes and vote for their favourite establishments all while "exploring "one of London's most cosmopolitan food and drink areas.

"Festival organiser, William Grobel said: "We are now inviting all Tooting restaurants, pubs, bars and food retailers to enter the awards at www.tootingfoodfestival.com. Here, residents and visitors can also register to win prizes and special offers and suggest other ways businesses and individuals can get involved.

"The Tooting Food Festival is a wonderful opportunity to highlight Tooting as a first-class food and drink area."
