Officers visited three branches of KFC in Weymouth, Poole and Christchurch on 28th July after receiving intelligence of illegal working.
At the KFC in Jubilee Park, Weymouth, officers checked the documents of staff to find out whether they had the legal right to live or work in the UK. Four men - two from India aged 23 and 24 and two from Sri Lanka aged 29 and 34 - were found to be illegal workers.
At the KFC in Ashley Road, Poole, a 27-year-old South Korean man was found working illegally in the kitchen of the takeaway. At the KFC in Barrack Road, Christchurch, a 48-year-old Indian man was found working illegally.
During a search of a flat above the Christchurch KFC, a 55-year-old woman from Malawi living there was found to have overstayed a visitor's visa.
Five of the offenders have now been removed from the United Kingdom - the South Korean man, Malawian woman and three of the Indian men.
The three branches of KFC were visited simultaneously by officers at 1700 and were issued with on-the-spot penalty notices for employing illegal workers and may now face a fine of up to £60,000 between them - up to £10,000 per illegal worker.
