The White Swan at Wighill serves up “fine Yorkshire fayre”

12th January 2010, 12:21pm

Having opened its doors at the end of October last year after being closed for two years, The White Swan at Wighill is now serving up a menu packed with Yorkshire fayre.

Overseeing its creation is award-winning chef/proprietor Ashley McCarthy and the Swan's head chef, Matthew Meek, who joins the White Swan from the Durham Ox at Crayke.

The new menu draws on inspiration from a variety of different cuisine types, including tapas, along with presenting hearty dining options such as traditional bangers & mash and battered Grimsby haddock with hand-cut chips and mushy peas.

McCarthy commented: "The menu at the White Swan is all about choice, value for money and quality. Only the best, locally sourced produce goes into making a menu that I think will get people talking for its diversity and homage to time honoured classics, which carry a unique White Swan twist."

The menu at The White Swan is available from Tuesday to Saturday 12-2pm & 5-9pm and Sundays 12-7pm.
