The Walnut Tree Hotel appoints new head chef

9th December 2009, 8:49am

Denis Turner has been appointed the new head chef at the Walnut Tree Hotel in North Petherton.

Turner, who has joined the award winning Walnut Tree Hotel and its AA rosette star Lemon Tree Restaurant, has previously worked in fine dining and contract catering in London, helping to prepare and cook multi-million pound contracts.

He commented on his new role: "I found I was losing touch with the fashion of food and needed to move on to keep my passion going. I've got lots of plans for the Walnut Tree and plan to change the menus in January, introducing some more fish dishes and change the desert menu.

Looking ahead: "The daily specials will continue, depending on the meat and fish that is available each day. I love working with fish, especially sea bass, turbot and halibut. I like fusion cooking, using basic ingredients with a twist to create good, modern British food."
