The Runhead

27th September 2007, 4:51pm

The residents of Old Ryton are being brought back together thanks to the dramatic transformation of their local pub by Fluid Design Solutions.

Situated in a central location of the pretty area, The Runhead is quickly becoming the heart of the community once more after being converted from a run down shell into the thriving country pub it is now.

Atul Malhotra, Director of DAV Development Ltd said: "When we found the pub it was in a shocking state. It was avoided by many of the locals after gaining a bad reputation so we really wanted to turn it around.

"After having previously built up an excellent working relationship with Fluid Design Solutions we gave them more or less a free hand in terms of the pub's design."

Taking only five weeks to complete, the Runhead is now unrecognisable.

Wooden floors and comfy leather sofas give the pub a traditional feel, whilst its clean lines and sweeping bar achieve a modern finish.

Dave King, Managing Director of Fluid Design Solutions said: "We knew that maintaining a traditional aspect to the Runhead was very important so we used warm browns and reds to give the place a cosy atmosphere. The result is an interior space that works at any time of day and welcomes customers into various seating area.

"We also designed a patio area at the front of the pub with sturdy wooden benches and chairs, shaded by huge parasols to create a great outside area for summer that is suitable for families."

Atul added: "We were amazed at the speed of the project and thrilled with the final result. The place is now a favourite with families and has a great atmosphere."

The design team at Fluid has both the operational experience and design flair to deliver innovative, exciting and practical solutions to your commercial space.
