The Mexico Tourist Board partners with London Restaurant Festival

4th October 2010, 9:55am

The Mexico Tourist Board has been working with the London Restaurant Festival (LRF) team to sign-up some of London's top Mexican restaurants who will be offering festival menus throughout the two-week period.

The London Mexican restaurants include Boho Mexica, Cantina Laredo, Santo, Mestizo, Benito's Hat, Chilango, Taqueria, Tacuba, Café Pacífico and La Perla.

As well as the menus, Mexican food will also be one of the highlights of the LRF Market which will be at Old Spitalfields Market from the 11 October.

Mexican restaurants and suppliers to be at the food market include Chilango, Mestizo, Boho Mexica, Lupita and Santo. Mission Foods, Organic Exotic, Mex Grocer, Cool Chile and Taqueria.

Simon Davies, director of the Festival commented: "We are delighted to be working the Mexico Tourism Board. Mexican food is full of vibrancy and life - it's about a celebration of great ingredients, flavours and tastes. We can't wait for that vibrancy to spill over into the festival period."

Manuel Diaz Cebrian, regional director for Europe at the Mexico Tourism Board in the UK, added: "Alongside the welcoming and positive attitude that identifies people from Mexico our gastronomy is one of the most important assets we have as a magnet to attract visitors. The variety of our cuisine continues to surprise well travelled visitors and is one of the most important reasons for repeat visits to our country.

"Our participation in London Restaurant Festival as one of the main supporters aims at reaching potential visitors to Mexico through the taste of our cuisine represented by a selection of authentic Mexican restaurants."

The Mexican Tourist board has been working the London Restaurant Festival to highlight their most recent tourist campaign entitled "Routes of Mexico"; a set of 10 travel routes that takes the visitor on a journey to explore Mexico's gastronomy, natural diversity and heritage.
