The Living Room restaurant to undergo major refit

The Living Room on Edinburgh's George Street is set to undergo a major refurbishment thanks to a £3 million investment package from new owners The Orchid Group.

Orchid has acquired 43 businesses from Premium Bars & Restaurants plc, including all 13 of The Living Room sites across the UK, with a six figure sum earmarked for investment in the Edinburgh venue.

The money will be spent on refitting the piano bar and restaurant, including new furniture, seating areas, décor and artwork.

Richard Drake, area manager for the Living Room sites in Scotland, said: "We are obviously delighted that the Orchid deal was successful and that we are able to both ensure job security for our staff and significantly invest in the Edinburgh site as a result. We look forward to welcoming existing and new customers to the exciting revamped venues in the spring." 

Orchid intends to roll out the programme over the next 12 months.
