Customers are being asked to dig out their unwanted and leave them on The Living Room Suit Amnesty rack.
They will then be professionally dry cleaned and handed on to local charities, who will distribute them to people who cannot afford their own professional workwear. As a thank you, The Living Room will give any suit donors a 20% off food vouchers.
The suits will help those who are homeless and want to find employment, unemployed people aiming to get back into work or school leavers from disadvantaged backgrounds trying to get their first job.
The scheme runs from January 29th until March 31st and there are over 20 local charities across the country benefiting from the scheme.
Lisa Wetton, general manager of The Living Room in Glasgow, said: "The idea for The Suit Amnesty was born out of a thought that those in the fortunate position of working in business could actually make a huge difference to people who are looking for jobs by donating their suits.
"Very often there are people from less privileged backgrounds who don't have access to funds and are trying to get into work but want and need some help to get on to the career ladder."
The Living Room's HR team will also be running interview workshops offering free CV clinics and interview workshops during February and March.
