The Living Room gets glam new look – as brand strive for sterling position on high street

27th July 2010, 3:17pm

The Living Room's 13 restaurant and bars across the UK are getting a striking new look as the brand refurbishes its sites in a move to position itself above its rivals on the high street.

The new look is designed to retain The Living Room's "classic elegance" while bringing it up to date by introducing a lighter, brighter feel featuring "the latest designer trends".

The makeover is part of the brand's continual efforts to "evolve" the brand and reinstate the company's place in the public's minds as at the forefront of the high street dining and drinking markets.

The planned new designs will remain sympathetic to the Living Room's original modular styling but will introduce different areas for specific needs and occasions.

Specially designated areas will include The Study, a non-fee paying private members bar, and The Living Room Bar which will house premium spirits, cocktails and a dining area.

In addition, some individual sites of The Living Room will feature their own unique new elements including the Liverpool site, which will feature The Vampire Suite, a basement VIP suite within the private members bar.

Elsewhere the Leeds branch will feature 7 Below, while Liverpool will house Mosquito, with both featuring a high-tempo late bar and club.

The Nottingham and Leeds sites of the Living Room bars were the first to be refurbished and re-opened during mid-June and July. Next up for a makeover will be Manchester and Edinburgh, followed by further investments later on.

The changes follow The Living Room's acquisition by the Orchid Group, as part of the takeover of Premium Bars and Restaurants at the end of 2009.

Adam Bowers, head of marketing for The Living Room said: "Loyal customers will appreciate the changes, but will still recognise it as the brand they know and love

"New customers will experience a contemporary, vibrant bar and restaurant that will, once again, position The Living Room ahead of its many rivals."
