The Ebury hosts a Burns Night Supper

19th January 2010, 8:01am

The Ebury bar and brasserie will be hosting a Burns Night Supper on January 25th to celebrate the life of renowned Scottish poet, Robert Burns.

As well as a full traditional menu the evening will include live entertainment from a piper.

The establishment has created a bespoke cocktail The Scotch Lyricist to begin proceedings. The Scotch whisky based drink is mingled with frangelico and cheery heering and is finished with amaretto and served straight up.

Starters on the menu will include cock a leekie soup, arbroath smokies mousse with Scottish oatcakes, or "rumbled" smoked salmon served on a potato cake with soured cream.

To follow include treats such as haggis with neeps and tatties, Aberdeen Angus grilled rib eye with a potato scone and "auld reekie" sauce, and loch duart salmon fillet with a whisky sauce.

To finish are the cloutie dumpling with butterscotch sauce or cranachan iced parfait served with Dundee marmalade and drunken orange. Also on offer will be a selection of Scottish cheeses with oatcakes.

The three course Celtic banquet is priced at £25 per person.
