The Brickhouse comes to Brick Lane

12th November 2007, 12:57pm

A new 'urban chic' fine-dining restaurant serving Modern European cuisine has recently opened its doors on Brick Lane.

The Brickhouse, housed in the 18th Century Old Truman Brewery, is spread across two floors. The ground floor houses an open kitchen, L-shaped bar, and a traditional seating area seating up to 80 people, and the first floor features two mezzanine levels – offering booths, (seating groups of six) a private dining room, (holding up to eight diners) and four beds for a different dining experience.

Head chef Matthew Reuther, previously senior sous and sous chef at London Michelin-starred restaurants 1 Lombard Street and Foliage, is serving up dishes including Roast Scallops with bacon, Baby Onion and Parsley Vinaigrette and Parmesan Mashed Potatoes, and Pave of Beef with Confit Parsnip. Average spend is £55 per person.

The eatery also provides entertainment every evening, showcasing a range of performers from aerial acrobats and sublime singers, to VJs and DJs.

The mezzanine floors and private dining room can be hired on request. Owner is Simon Hood.
