The Belfry appoints renowned chef

Stephen Wheeler, formerly at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, has joined the The Belfry golf and spa resort in Wishaw, West Midlands, as executive chef.

Wheeler will be responsible for the establishment's five restaurants and bars as well as its banqueting facilities.

 

The newly appointed head chef previously held similar positions at the Wembley Stadium and Harrods in London, where he was overseeing 160 chefs, 22 restaurants and famous food halls. Prior to this, he was the executive sous chef at Conran's Bluebird and managed the openings for Hilton national in the UK and the Park Hyatt in Canberra, Australia.

 

Wheeler commented on his plans for the resort: "My aim is to introduce an entirely new menu that's truly worthy of the name, concentrating on modern seasonal dishes and locally-produced ingredients."
