Tabasco is calling for Britain’s best oyster openers to put their name forward for this year’s Tabasco British Oyster Opening Championship.

Contestants are required to open and display 30 native oysters as quickly as possible.

The winner of the competition will not only be crowned with the 'Tabasco British Oyster Opener of the Year' title, but will also be awarded a trophy, a £250 cheque and a trip to Galway to represent Britain in the International Championship.

Anyone interested in entering should contact Tess Robinson at Food Matters on 020 7371 6466 or email her on tess@foodmatters.co.uk

The competition will be held on 1 September at Bentley's Oyster Bar and Grill, Swallow Street, London.
