THE CROWN AT WOODBRIDGE IS AWARDED PRESTIGIOUS 'PUB WITH ROOMS' AWARD

Just months after its transformation from 'fine old pub' into 'boutique townhouse inn', The Crown at Woodbridge has been named the winner of the 'Pub with Rooms' award in Alastair Sawday's Pubs and Inns of England & Wales 2010 guide.

David Hancock, editor of the Pubs and Inns Guide which recommends around 5,000 places across Europe and beyond including hotels and pubs described the 'spruced up townhouse inn as shining like a beacon on the Suffolk coast' thanks to its boutique style bedrooms and innovative food.

And to the delight of Stephen Hancock, Alistair Sawday himself turned up at the inn to personally present the award remarking: "The Crown at Woodbridge has been created with panache and an obvious devotion to high quality. Unusually, this also comes with service as warm as it is professional. And the food was utterly faultless and delicious."

The Crown at Woodbridge is also celebrating after recently being shortlisted as a finalist in the UK Restaurant and bar Design Awards.
