10th March 2008, 3:58pm

The Crown Estate has unveiled that Swiss restaurant Tibits is coming to London, Regent Street’s restaurant quarter, in August.

The new 4,740 sq ft eatery at 12-14 Heddon Street, is situated opposite North African restaurant, Momo.

Similar to it sister restaurant in Zurich, the all-day vegetarian restaurant, bar and take away concept will offer a range of vegetarian dishes, trading from early morning with coffees, smoothies and patisserie, through to late evening, with a full bar and an extensive range of cocktails.

Designed by Tricia Guild of London's Designer's Guild, wallpapers and textiles are used to create a different dining experience throughout the day and into the evening.

David Shaw, head of Regent Street strategy & development at The Crown Estate, commented: "It is fantastic to be able to welcome Tibits to the Regent Street food quarter. We believe they will add a new dimension to the existing catering offer and hope that they will soon firmly establish themselves as another reason to come and spend in Heddon Street."

Reto Frei, co-owner of Tibits, commented on the new addition: "We are delighted to open out first restaurant outside Switzerland in such a prestigious location and we are convinced that or fresh and stylish approach to vegetarian cuisine will be well received in London."

Davis Coffer Lyons and CB Richard Ellis acted as agents for The Crown Estate.

Almost all of the property in London's Regent Street and Regent's Park belongs to The Crown Estate.

The Crown Estate is one of the largest rural estates in the UK.
