Swiss firms come to London's IFE

24th February 2009, 10:00am

Swiss companies are making their mark at this year's IFE as they prepare themselves to showcase a wide range of award-winning cheeses, sauces, soups and antipasti that combine both quality and convenience.

Six companies will be displaying their wares and services at the Swiss Pavilion, organised by OSEC in partnership with the Swiss Business Hub – three of them for the first time ever. Visitors to the IFE will have the opportunity to encounter not only a new range of products but a whole new set of companies.

The Swiss food market will be carving out a niche for its organic products. Holderhof for example will be showing the innovative and exciting array of organic products being developed in Switzerland. They will offer juicy refreshments in the form of organic elderberry and herbal drinks, available in flavours to suit all tastes. The range includes cordials with various fruit flavours and fruit wines, as well as an organic energy drink with a delicious scent of lemon balm.

Meanwhile Deluna have developed their Fine Food product range for the show, combining traditional Italian cuisine with innovative and creative recipes. And if this is not enough, Flagfood will be serving up a 'twist' with its range of chilled fruit products which are frozen in the form of cubes or slices. Fruit purées and concentrates, deep-frozen vegetables and other special products will complete the product range.

Finally, no food exhibition would be complete without cheese. Around 450 types of cheese are manufactured in Switzerland and are coming to IFE. Two exhibitors -- Interprofession du Gruyère and Von Mühlenen will display their various types of cheese from well-known Swiss regions, each distinguished by its quality and taste. International awards confirm the world-class quality of the cheese products, which can be tasted at the stand.

IFE will be kicking off from 15-18 March at London's ExCel.
