The Newling Ward family philosophy has always been to excel in quality and service.
The major works will include replacing the conservatory-restaurant with a new Orangery from January to March 2011. This involves enlarging the dining area overlooking the gardens and lake.
And the existing restaurant will be redecorated to match the new Orangery. Modern and contemporary designs will be featured throughout whilst retaining the "much loved" classical atmosphere.
Works will also commence on the two function rooms, the Oak Lounge and Cedar Suite, which will include modernising its facilities with the state-of-the-art technology for conferences. The entrance lobby and reception area will also be revitalised.
General manager Delaunoy said: "This is a considerable investment, especially during the current economic climate. But we have always ensured that the fabric of the hotel is kept to the highest standards at all times, along with our service, and you can see that from what we achieved with the Garden Wing bedroom extension in 2007.
"We would welcome guests to come and see what we are doing and have some great imagery and plans on display in the hotel…it's going to be amazing."
The hotel will be open for accommodation and dining during all refurbishments with the restaurant temporarily relocated to the lounge and function rooms from January 2011.
