Spanish restaurant group La Tasca launches The Taste of Summer campaign

22nd July 2010, 9:39am

La Tasca, the Spanish tapas restaurant and bar group, has launched a two-month promotional campaign entitled 'The Taste of Summer' to encourage customers to experience the taste of Spain this Summer.

The campaign will run until 5 September and is fronted by head chef from La Tasca in St Martin's Lane, Fabrizio Gonzalez.

In addition, the 66 strong group is running an incentive scheme for restaurant managers across three sales and marketing categories with 28 different trips abroad to be won.

Restaurants have been split into four groups with challenges to achieve the best year of year sales growth, the highest year on year sangria and wines sales growth and the greatest database growth.  Seven winners in each group will win breaks to Washington, Barcelona and Madrid.

New onto the menu for the Summer are five new sangria's which accompany the four existing sangria's on the menu. These are Sangria Rose, Sangria Blanca, Sangria de Toro, Sangria Margarita, Torres 10 Sangria.  In addition, each restaurant will host a Summer sangria-making evening on 29 July for customers to learn the art of creating the traditional Spanish drink.

Joanne Cox, brand manager for La Tasca said, "Last summer we ran a staff incentive scheme which was not just popular amongst our managers but successful too. Earlier this year we launched fiesta nights hosted on the last Thursday of the month in our restaurants, each themed differently from sangria making to Spanish wine tasting to a taster evening for traditional regional Spanish dishes.

"They proved a hit with our customers so we have combined more fiesta nights with our new Taste of Summer campaign to encourage people to experience the taste of Spain."
