The Ode restaurant situated in the picturesque village of Shaldon near Teignmouth has received the Editors' award for "Best Use of Local Produce" in the Which? Good Food Guide 2011.
Chef Tim Bouget who is passionate about regional and seasonal produce, set up Ode with his wife Claire, and they are both delighted that Ode is attracting national recognition.
"We are thrilled that Ode has been chosen for this prestigious national award and the credit goes to our dedicated team, all the fantastic suppliers and producers in the South West who are continually striving for excellence and our guests who have supported us over the years."
Tim, who has worked with Michelin starred chefs in some of the world's top restaurants, is committed to sourcing the best local ingredients for his restaurant from locally caught fish and seafood to organic food and vegetables.
He has also taken an active role in the Visit South Devon "Let's Get Cracking campaign" to promote South Devon crab. The marketing manager of Visit South Devon, Sarah Streeter says that Tim represents all that is great about South Devon cuisine and that the award is much deserved.
"Tim and his team at Ode are a great example of what restaurants in the South Devon area have to offer, renowned cooking skills combined with high quality ingredients from outstanding local producers. He has done so much to support and promote local food, and this latest award is a great tribute to him."
