Sani-Floor self-washing floor systems

30th June 2008, 4:30pm

Mechline’s ‘Sani-Floor’ is a unique safety, hygiene and ergonomic system installed in the kitchen, dishwash, potwash, bar, or any food production area to take care of spills as they happen.

Launching at Hotelympia on STAND N2414, it is a self-cleaning floor system that fits flush with the floor surface, so liquid spills and food debris fall through the grate into the basin below. Solids are caught by a filter tray for easy disposal.

Sani-Floor provides an anti-fatigue surface for staff, without the use of rubber mats. The grates feature a rough textured surface and are made from tough fibreglass resin, cutting the risk of slips and falls and the floor stays dry and free of debris.

Sani-Floor's self-cleaning system features automatic high-pressure, cold-water nozzles, which blast food debris off the sides of the basin and into a filter tray. Washdown takes only seconds and can be set hourly or as the operation demands. There is also a manual override to immediately tackle spills.

Greasy spills can be easily and quickly swept / mopped into the large Sani-Floor profile keeping the kitchen clean and eliminating tracking or cross contamination of liquids to other areas (especially carpeted restaurant floors).  Maintenance of the floor drains to prevent build up of grease can be achieved by including Mechline's GreasePaK system to dose its powerful MSGD solution during the last cleaning cycle.

Originally made in the US but now manufactured for Mechline in the UK, Sani-Floor can be installed side-by-side or end-to-end to provide any length or width configuration. As a modular system, bespoke lengths and designs can be provided to suit individual site and operational requirements.

Taking into account the prevention of slips and falls, reduction in staff time off or paying compensation, plus the savings on cleaning materials, rubber mats and labour, Sani-Floor can achieve payback in as little as 12 months says Mechline.

Award winning – Sani-Floor was recently one of 10 finalists in the US FCSI- sponsored 'Innovation Showcase' and went on to be honoured wth the Kitchen Innovation Award at the NRA Show, as well as being the Editors Choice Award at the International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show.

Where hygiene and safety matters Sani-Floor represents a brilliant design solution for improving safety and hygiene in kitchen, wash-up, bar and any wet areas.
