The new office will house SIBA's chief executive Julian Grocock and a small support team led by national manager Charlie Gorham. SIBA's quarterly Councils, as well as other meetings involving chairman Keith Bott and other trustees and officers of SIBA will from now on be held at the National Brewery Centre.
Grocock said: "I can't think of a better home for the body representing the UK's craft brewing industry than the National Brewery Centre. We share the NBC's ambition to revitalise British beer and bring it to a new generation of drinkers and by sharing a building we believe we will be able to support each other very effectively in fulfilling this aim. This is a perfect partnership."
Burton MP Andrew Griffiths – who is also chair of the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group - has been instrumental in bringing SIBA into the National Brewery Centre. He said: "Beer and brewing are at the very heart of Burton and we welcome SIBA's decision to site its headquarters here.
"We value their support for the town and for the National Brewery Centre and we will do all we can to support them: it is the smaller, craft brewers within SIBA's membership who are driving the renaissance in British brewing which everyone in Burton is keen to see continue in the coming years."
