Restaurants toast Perth’s 800th anniversary

11th January 2010, 12:08pm

Two top Perth restaurants are celebrating the city’s 800th birthday by offering customers a bottle of wine for just £1.

No 1 The Bank at the Parklands Hotel and 63 Tay Street will offer one bottle per two people for lunch or dinner bookings during January and February.

The move is to mark the start of 'Perth 800,' a year-long programme of events commemorating the 800th anniversary of the granting of the Royal Burgh Charter to the city by King William the Lion.

Graeme Pallister of 63 Tay Street and Parklands, said: "The 800th anniversary is a momentous milestone in Perth's history and helping guests toast the city's health is one of our contributions to the celebrations."

The Parklands and 63 Tay Street each has an Eat Scotland Silver Award and 2 AA rosettes for dining.
