Our officers visited The Indian Restaurant, The Square, Havant Road at 1700 on Friday 26 February and interviewed the staff working there to check their immigration status.
Two men, aged 29 and 32 both from Bangladesh, were arrested after it was found they had overstayed their visitor visas and were working illegally.
The pair were later released on immigration bail and must report regularly to a local police station while further immigration applications are considered. If it is found they have no right to remain in the UK they will be removed from the country.
Lyn Sari from the local immigration team in Hampshire, said: "We're committed to tackling illegal working in Hampshire. This is the latest in a series of operations my officers have carried out in the area.
"We conduct intelligence-led visits to businesses and residential addresses every week across the county and we appeal for information from the public so we can crack down further on those who are flouting the law."
Anyone who suspects that illegal workers are being employed at a business in the Hampshire area should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be assured.
