The new service helps restaurants increase business on quiet nights and offers consumers promotions at their favourite neighbourhood restaurants by sending free texts to their mobiles.
Lucy Miller, who is the fifth generation of her family to run her own business, said: "The restaurant contacts us in the afternoon if it's quiet and we send customers a free text on their mobiles with promotional offers for that evening. This can be, for example, 50% off a main course.
"We help restaurants increase bookings on slow days and promote their business through PR and social media. We have a blog and are active on Twitter and Facebook. Local restaurants have to concentrate on the day to day running of their business and this is where we can help."
Restaurants which are using the service includes The Tryst, Thames Ditton; The Canbury Arms, Kingston; Arthur's on the Green, Twickenham; La Capanna, Cobham; Mamma Mia, Purley; El Peyote, Kingston and the Raintree Restaurant and Bar, Thames Ditton.
If consumers want to sign up to the service, they can fill in a card at Arthur's or visit the web site www.realtimeseating.com and register their details.
