ROADSIDE CAFÉ TO LET

22nd May 2008, 9:39am

A former Little Chef on the A90, at Balnabreich near Brechin, Angus, which is in the process of being transformed into a Bervie Chipper, is available for let.

The fully renovated and fitted fish and chip restaurant, the only roadside catering opportunity on the south bound carriageway of the A90 dual carriageway between Aberdeen and Forfar.

Dundee-based SHK Property and Investments has appointed J&E Shepherd Chartered Surveyors to market the business. SHK boss Tony Hussain said: "This completely refurbished outlet, easily accessible from both carriageways, represents a rare opportunity to secure a purpose built roadside restaurant/café.

"The property is well known within the local area, having traded as a Little Chef for many years. The premises are currently being refitted to a high standard for let under the banner of the Bervie Chipper, a name synonymous with the area."

The 160 sq m premises are being fitted out to accommodate 60 covers in the restaurant on a site with marked bays for 29 cars.

SHK is seeking a premium of £50,000 with an annual rent of £30,000. Interested parties should contact Rob Whitson at J&E Shepherd chartered surveyors on 01382  200454.

* SHK is this year investing £20million in restaurants across Scotland as it seeks to realise its aim to be the biggest restaurant property group in Scotland.
