The pub company's development chefs have launched a vegetarian option using haloumi cheese. The haloumi is marinated in olive oil, lemon juice and parsley before being floured and battered.
Fish and chips is the most popular dish on the menu and over the summer a massive 41,637 portions were sold, that's nearly one and a half portions every minute.
Operations director Dan Robinson said: "It might sound a strange combination at first, but those who try it love it! Every time we have cooked off portions at menu tastings they have disappeared in seconds, which is unheard of for a vegetarian dish!"
"Fish and chips is by far the most popular dish in London pubs and it's only right that our vegetarian guests can now get in on the act and in our experience vegetarian diners prefer a meat substitute when they dine out."
The Veggie Fish and chips are available in over 100 Punch Pub Company pubs.
