Punch Partnership recognised for supporting problem gamblers

The GREaT Foundation – the Gambling Industry’s charity responsible for raising funds to support research, education and treatment of problem gambling – has commended Punch Partnership for helping.

The GREaT Foundation Annual Awards 2010 winners, which were selected by an expert panel representing the gambling industry Trade Associations and operators, each have shown a commitment to The GREaT Foundation beyond what was required of them – be it financially or due to some other special circumstance that made their contribution more significant.

Presenting the awards, Geoffrey Godbold OBE, director of The GREaT Foundation said: "We appreciate that the last year has been very tough financially for the gambling and pubs industries as a whole and it is, therefore, even more gratifying to see organisations such as Punch Partnership (PTL) Ltd making a special effort by increasing their support of The GREaT Foundation."

He added: "The number of people affected by problem gambling is not diminishing and the monies donated to us are as much needed now as ever before. On behalf of all those who benefit from the research, education and treatment that donations fund, we are extremely grateful to each and every one of our supporters that made a contribution to us for 2010/11."
