A pint of bitter is cheaper than an equivalent amount of a non-alcoholic drink in almost half of Britain's pubs.
One city centre bar was charging £2.60 for a pint of orange juice when the bitter was just £2.
The Sunday Mirror researchers went to 17 and compared the price of bitter and lager with a pint of orange juice or lemonade.
Figures found that at the Crown in Birmingham city centre, a pint of lemonade costs £2.30 – 31p more than a pint of pedigree, and orange juice at the Bristol Flyer in Bristol city centre cost £2.40 – 25p cheaper than a pint of bitter.
