PizzaExpress the latest partner for Barclaycard Freedom

5th March 2010, 3:11pm

High street restaurant chain, PizzaExpress has become the latest high profile partner to join Barclaycard Freedom – a new retail rewards scheme for the UK.

PizzaExpress joins thousands of small and medium size retailers that have already signed up, all of which will offer Reward Money to Barclaycard's eight million customers when it launches this month.

Reward Money is recorded in pounds and pence, with no vouchers or coupons to save and no points to calculate.

As soon as the scheme launches, cardholders will be able to earn Reward Money of 1% when using their Barclaycard at PizzaExpress. Other national retailers and partners already in the scheme include LA Fitness, YO! Sushi, Firebox.com, Goldsmiths and Nationwide Autocentres.

In addition to the one per cent earn rate, PizzaExpress will offer cardholders exclusive rewards - until 15th May, customers who spend £30 will get £5 Reward Money.

Emma Woods, marketing director for PizzaExpress said: "We are so fond of our regular customers, from the moment we heard about the Barclaycard Freedom scheme, we wanted to be involved to give them something back. The customer overlap between PizzaExpress and Barclaycard is strong and its an easy, hassle free way to reward loyalty."

Sarah Newman, managing director of Barclaycard Freedom, added: "We are delighted that Pizza Express will be part of Barclaycard Freedom from the launch in March. We feel that Barclaycard Freedom incorporates the best elements of loyalty schemes, with the rewards in pounds and pence and no need to worry about vouchers and coupons. We will be revealing more of the scheme's participants in the coming weeks as we lead up to launch."
